Our First Responder course is designed for CERT members to learn advanced medical skills in the event they are on-scene of a disaster or emergency in their community.
Any Elk Grove - Galt CERT member wanting to volunteer for any Community Event, CERT Training or assisting with local emergencies where CERT has been activated, must have fully completed the CERT Level 2 training below.

Students will apply the fundamental skills and knowledge required to function as a First Responder. Emphasis placed on necessary skills needed for the recognition of scene safety, assessment of the patient, lifting and moving patient, along with airway management, resuscitation efforts and use of an AED. Upon course completion, the student will receive a certificate and will be registered with the California State Fire Marshal as a First Responder. First Responder Certification is valid for two (2) years. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer teaches students to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants, use an AED on an adult or child victim of cardiac arrest and use of personal protective equipment to stop blood borne pathogens and other diseases from spreading. |
